How to Drive like Tiger

drive like tiger

There is no doubt that when it comes to driving in the game of golf, Tiger definitely is king of the swingers. The driver is the biggest boy in the bunch and when it comes to it, it’s the least forgiving and shows off your flaws like no ones business. Some may choose to take the less risky option and use a fairway wood or low iron when teeing off but to be honest, nothing beats the satisfaction of knocking one out with the biggest club in your bag. (I’m talking about the driver!)

When you approach to tee off with the driver, It will help to take a wider posture than usual and stand further back from the ball. Make sure the ball is positioned inside your left heel and tee the ball us so half of it shows above the head of the driver - remember - accuracy is more important than distance.
Relax and focus your mind and aim at a small target such as a mark on the fairway. Using a smaller target will help more than using a general one such as a tree etc.

Keep the clubhead low to the ground and create a wide arc as you take the club back, remembering not to overswing. You really need to control your power when using the driver. Keeping your right need bent and making sure you don’t overbalance to the side of your foot will keep you in control.
Swing back through the ball as smoothly as you can letting the club do the work. Sweeping the ball of the tee is much better than just whacking it as hard as you can so bear that in mind. When driving it is also important to follow right through to the target and follow the path of your ball.
