As you probably know, golf courses are rarely flat so it’s really important to know how to play on all different lies. You could find yourself playing on a downward slope, which is very intimidating to a new golfer, it can feel like the ground is running away from you.
One of the major rules of thumb is to always lean in to a hill, this way it’ll make sure you’re well prepared for the shot. Also it is important to keep your shoulders parallel to the ground, this will fool your swing into thinking it is playing on flat ground. Due to the contour of the slope, you will be forced to swing the club in a more upright position, resulting in a slicing action - make sure you aim well to compensate for this.
Keeping your weight on your front foot will also help on uneven lies and will force your shoulders to tilt parallel to the ground. Play the ball near your higher foot. This will help compromise for the angle of your shoulders. I know it seems like a lot of rules but trust me, they are a godsend on uneven courses!
