Sand Iron

Category: Irons, Tips — November 23rd, 2006

sand iron

For me this is my favourite club as I used to be always in bunkers and got the nick name sandy. But now I have mastered this club. The range of this club is up to 80 yds (73m).
Like all clubs it is designed with thought, it is weighted along the lower edge of the blade to maintain the momentum as it is ‘bounced’ or ’splashed’ through. Another use for this club is on the fairway when a high shot with powerful backspin is required to clear trouble on the way to the green.
But this is a tricky shot to master but very good when you do.
